A very British tradition

Thousands gathered in the Plaza de la Constitución at Torrevieja for the traditional English carol concert. As you would expect, the concert began on time at 6pm.

There were plenty of Spanish people out to enjoy the singing, I wonder what they make of carols like Good King Wenclas and Hark, the Herald Angels Sing.

When we get back to Bigastro, we have an engagement at the local primary schools to sing carols to the children there. Amongst the Spanish carols we will manage to slip in carols like “O Come All Ye Faithful”  along with a couple of cheesy songs like “Jingle Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.

I doubt  that any towns in Britain will be hosting outdoor carol concerts like the one in Torrevieja – those that are won’t be singing carols in a foreign tongue!
