Micrófono is Spanish for microphone. Los Micrófenos ; Alan and Francisco percusión; Borja cantante and Manuel coros y palmas play and sing what they describe as "flamenco fusion". I'd describe it as a jazz version of the traditional art form- refreshingly different to the style of music that young groups are normally interested in.
The Micrófenos' regular venue is the Avalon Bar opposite the Centro Social Integrado but last night they played to a large and enthusiastic audience at the Holy Cross Fiesta.
They are obviously very popular and having heard them I can understand why. Just a couple of suggestions:-
It isn't great to keep your audience waiting until after 11pm when the programme says 10 o'clock.
Having ten minute breaks between songs spoils the continuity of your set.
I'm not sure whether they'd finished or not when I left just after midnight. Maybe they came back and did a couple more songs. I certainly hope so because they have built up a large following in the town.
