Alicante has the worst indices for non compulsory education

The province has one of the worse indices of scholastic failure in all of Spain, with nearly 36% of its pupils failing to gain the minimum  academic knowledge needed to move on to further study at the end  of compulsory Secondary education.

Less than 60% of  secondary school student want to continue their studies at Baccalaureate level as opposed to  89.8% in the Basque Country, 80% in Asturias and 80.7% in Galicia. The average for the country is 70.5%.

The last indices published by the Ministry of  Education show that schooling of students between 3 and 5 years in the Valencian Community is at the third lowest level in Spain. In the Baccalaureate, the only area with lower matriculation was the the Balearic Islands, and in  Programs of Social Guarantee the index of pupils is the worst in the country.

The Professional Formation of average degree is the only level in  which the Valencian Community surpasses the national average of 26.3%  by 1.4% .  In Superior FP  the community is 1 point beneath the average of  23.4%, the  seventh worse index in the country.

It might be a good area for sunshine but not necessarily for education.
