The present campaign of fishing for langostino (prawns) in Guardamar del Segura is down on last year's. The average price has been of about 60 euros by kilo. From April to the 20th of August the Brotherhood of Fishermen have only earned128,514 euros from their catches.
According to the Brotherhood, the absence of floods of water from the Segura river have prevented regeneration of stocks.
Ah well I'll have to stick to sardines then.
