Nationally, the Socialists suffered their worst results since the country became democratic, with almost two million fewer votes than the PP, the PSOE lost 1.5 million votes since the last elections in 2007.The Socialists lost Castilla-La Mancha, Aragón, Baleares and Asturias and Cantabria and the city of Seville. The only communities where they retain control are Extremadura (with the help of the IU) , Andalusia and the Basque Country.
