The Spanish Traffic Authority, the DGT, started a new two week breathalyser campaign on Monday 4 June.
They anticipate breathalysing 15,000 motorists at 800 check points all over the country. Each check point will also have paraplegic victims of traffic collisions there to talk to drivers. The DGT maintain that this is not a shock tactic but works well with the campaign’s slogan, “Don’t speed, don’t drink, don’t change your wheels”, referring to their wheelchair bound ambassadors.
