It seems that Britain has been hit by very heavy rain particularly in the Sheffield Leeds area. Both the Don and the Aire burst their banks causing widespread flooding.
In the meantime temperatures rose to 35 degrees on our thermometer outside as we basked in weather that feels more like August than late June.
In truth neither is desirable. Meteorologists cannot definitely attribute these freaks of weather to global warming but say that we can expect more abnormal weather if the pattern of temperature rises continues.

It's ghastly Keith. Liverpool seems to be ok, thank God, but our friends over in Yorkshire are having a torrid time. There are roads under EIGHT FEET of water, and if you've seen pictures of Hillsborough stadium, it looks like a swimming pool.
My heart goes out to them.
