No more blank screens

Telmicro Levante customers have had some channels returned. The company, which ceased transmission over three weeks ago, has started transmitting some channels earlier this week via the aerial at Los Montesinos. In a statement from the company published in the Round Town News they say:-

Telmicro Levante SL has been through three very turbulent and testing weeks since they were forced to cease transmission. The reason for this situation was due to the company transmitting certain channels for the benefit of its clients. During this week, Telmicro Levante will be starting to broadcast a service again. They have already started and clients on the Los Montesinos transmitter have been receiving some channels since last Saturday. It is Telmicro Levante’s intention to be broadcasting to as many of their clients as possible by the end of this week. There will be certain channels missing from the company’s package, however they have been given full permission to restart broadcasting. To begin with, it will be a restricted service comprising of channels that the company has been contracted to re-transmit. These channels are the ones Telmicro’s clients have got to know very well over the last year; such as the MGM, Cinestar and Xtrm film channels, the Sci-fi channel, Calle 13, Fox, National Geographic, etc. In addition, Telmicro will be showing some of the Spanish terrestrial programmes. The company is now working hard to contract even more channels that will appeal to their client base and hope to bring them a wide and varied choice of channels to suit the whole family. Telmicro will not make any charges to their customers for one full month after the service has been resumed in their area, the second month will be half price and thereafter the monthly charges will be at a reduced rate.

It remains to be seen whether the likes of BBC and ITV will return to the Telmicro package, but at least you are not staring at blank screens any longer and who knows, thanks to the extra Spanish programmes, you may all be fluent by the end of the year!
