Graffiti

You see it everywhere; on waste land it can be almost art but otherwise it makes buildings and shops look ugly.

I would ask the authors of this stuff:- What is it meant to convey? Are those meant to be words or just symbols? Are they messages of hope or despair? Is anybody, other than the originator, meant to understand it?

Where time has been taken, as in these examples it is almost acceptable. In most cases however, graffiti is just a scrawl on a wall that has neither artistic merit nor meaning; well at least not to me.

If it lacks both merit and meaning - then what is the point of it?

Perhaps I am just too old to understand what makes these people tick.
