Often the most simple ideas are the best. The Ministry for the Interior and the Spanish Red Cross have this week launched a campaign to encourage mobile phone users to store a special 'In case of emergency' phone number onto their handsets.
The number or numbers should be stored as Aa1, Aa2 etc so that they come up first in the phone directory. Emergency services are aware of this and in a situation where they need to contact a relative or friend, they will call these numbers first.

Ah yes, a good idea indeed. I saw that in the UK last year, and they were encouraging people to add a contact under ICE in their contacts list.
This led to a positive viral email campaign to circulate the message. This was then followed by a negative viral email campaign telling people that adding an ICE contact allowed hackers to hijack your phone and take control of it. I've never read such bollocks in my life, but people will send this stuff on!
It's a great idea, and I hope it takes off in Spain.
