I’m not sure where John and Carol were positioned yesterday to watch the stage from Le Cap d'Agde to Perpignan. Hopefully, wherever they were, they were able to catch the news of what was happening.
It is always good when a Frenchman wins a stage and yesterday, following a breakaway early on in the stage, Thomas Voeckler made a bid for victory in the last five kilometres that paid off. The peleton did make some attempt to chase the escapees down but left it too late to draw them back in for a sprint finish.
Today the stage reaches the southernmost point that the Tour has been to – a 181.5km ride from Girona to Barcelona.
