I didn’t see John and Carol during yesterday’s coverage of the team time trial from Montpellier to Montpellier.
What we did see though was a nail biting finish. It looked like Lance Armstrong could have just taken the leader’s yellow jersey as team Astana came in faster that team Saxobank. The deficit that Armstrong had on Cancellara was 40 seconds. At one point Astana were 41 seconds up on Saxobank but as they crossed the line that vital extra second was lost. So Cancellara stays in yellow for the moment.
John and Carol will be somewhere out on the stage today which runs from Le Cap d'Agde to Perpignan. A couple of hill in the middle of the course followed by a long flat run will favour the sprinters.
Unlike yesterday when John and Carol would have seen action for most of the afternoon, today the peleton will just zoom past them and be gone. At least they will enjoy the caravan that precedes the tour each day and may even come back with some freebies.
