Apparently the Partido Popular and the Popular Liberal and Centrist Union are at least a step closer to reaching an agreement which will allow them to take over the running of Bigastro. The two parties held meetings on Friday and again on Monday to thrash out the details.
Charo Bañuls, for the PP, says that negotiations have not been easy but that a pact between the two parties is more possible than impossible. She goes on to say that, although informal contact has been maintained with the acting mayor, a pact with the Socialists was out of the question. On the other hand, the socialists say that Bañuls had a meeting with them last Friday.
We have to remember that we are dealing with politicians here. I suppose it should come as no surprise to find that what exactly is going on is not 100% clear!
