It is cultural week in Orihuela so we abandoned our Spanish class to visit Callosa del Segura and immerse ourselves in the history and culture of the neighbouring town.
We took in the town’s museum which is largely dedicated to the hemp industry for which Callosa is famous. We visited the Semana Santa museum to view the magnificent pasos. Then we had a tour of the church and finally the Belen museum which houses the figures and tableaus that are displayed at Christmas.
