It might have been a pain but all that rain we have suffered means that for the first time in years the water reserves in Spain are up to 72.34 % of their total capacity. In fact many reservoirs in Andalucia are about to overflow.
The rain last week added hundreds of hectometres or water to the totals. The Segura basin reserves, which have been dangerously low over the last ten years, now have 515 cubic hectometres, 29 more than the previous week, and more than double the amount of water stored at the same time of year ten years ago.
So, I think you will agree, it was well worth putting up with that rain to ensure adequate water supplies for the coming year.
