Not the ones on the other side of our estate which are perfectly legal, these are in Sector D-6.
The storage tanks in question are located on land that was designated a green zone close to the San José de Calasanz school where children play. It is an area that should be parkland.
At a recent meeting of the town council, Bigastro decided that these gas tanks have to go and have given the company, Repsol, less than ninety days to remove them.
Permission to locate the tanks there was given by the former mayor, José Joaquín Moya who, along with the former secretary Antonio Saseta, face court cases for their actions.
The local council have already provisionally approved legalizing this zone and now await validation by the Government for the partial plan. The removal on the gas tanks was one of the conditions that had to be met.
