Almoradí has been dealt a double whammy by the economic crisis. First off, people have less money to spend on items like furniture and secondly with very few houses being built their is little demand for furniture for new homes.
To add to the misery, IKEA opened its store near Murcia which is catering for 25,000 clients per week.
It won’t be just furniture shops that are suffering. A whole range of suppliers and shops relied upon the housing boom to provide them with trade. Now that has all but finished, they too must be suffering.
