With the economic crisis, work in Sector D 6 has virtually come to a halt. What promised to be an estate of new houses and flats is now virtually a wasteland with just the odd development completed.
As a side effect, the roads and the pavements in D 6 are starting to look in need of repair and cleaning. This is where the team of 12 that the town has employed to clean up rural areas comes in. Having made an excellent job of the roundabout that leads into the town, they are now cleaning up Sector D 6.
Sadly, the contract for these 12 people runs out in August. Let us hope that funds are found to keep at least some of them on because their presence is making a big difference to the look of the town.
