Happy New Year

The start of a new decade was heralded in by possibly the best fireworks that Britain has produced. Over the last few years, the display at Sidney harbour has outshone those on the Thames but this year the tables were turned. I think you could say that London light up the sky last night.

Here in Sale, the fireworks were a little more low key but what did feature strongly were the Chinese lanterns. Literally hundreds of them floated up into the sky and were whisked along by the light wind.
