What did you do for Mother’s Day?

Yesterday was Mother’s Day in Spain, a time for them to put their feet up and be pampered.

Not for one lot though because in Orihuela, 823 women joined in the first run that had been organised especially for them. The organisers were expecting about 600 and were therefore surprised at the interest shown.

Among the runners were councillors, even the lady mayor, Mónica Lorente joined in.

The young fit athletic ones finished in just ten minutes, others strolled at a more leisurely pace.

PS I imagine that the most important competition on the day was not for who came in first but for who wore the best outfit. I have to say that Mónica Lorente looked pretty fit to me in her black T-shirt, black leggings and white/silver trainers. .
