The assistant representative of the Government, Encarna Llinares has advised the City Council of Bigastro that they must summon a plenary session within ten days of receiving the resignation of the Mayor. Since Imaculada Martínez accepted and signed the letter from José Joaquín Moya on the 31st October that means that the meeting must be scheduled by this coming Monday, the 10th November.
Raúl Valerio reiterated yesterday the intention to summon a plenary session next week. His understanding was that the term for this will run out on the 13th of November. Valerio went on to say that it would be in this plenary session that they would receive the official resignation of the mayor. Ten working days later, they would convene a second plenary session to choose to a new mayor between proposals from the PSOE and the PP parties.
Although they had not been made aware of changes to the timescale by the Subdelegation , Valerio says that they will follow the instructions of the assistant representative and convene an extraordinary meeting of the Council for Monday.
