The end of an era

pleno 1

The twenty five years that José Joaquín Moya spent as councillor and mayor of Bigastro ended at 1:30pm yesterday. The meeting, which lasted less than three and a half minutes was attended by councillors from both parties along with members of the press and a handful of citizens from the town.

In the press conference that followed, Inmaculada Martínez said that since 1983 Moya hadPleno 2 transformed Bigastro putting the town before his own family and personal interests. She said that he was an excellent person who believed that coexistence and respect were a life philosophy.

The process of appointing a successor now begins. With only 5 seats on the council it is unlikely that this will be someone from the PP party. The two most likely candidates are Inmaculada Martínez and Raúl Valerio.
