Shaken and disturbed

At forty one minutes past midnight the earth moved for us. The cause was an earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale which could be felt from Crevillent down to Torrevieja and across to  Rojales.

The epicentre was in Algorfa, just down the road from  Bigastro. The quake, which was accompanied by a roar,  could be felt for several seconds and rattled the pots on the roof of the house.

Hours before, Algeria was subjected to a quake of magnitude 4 on the Richter scale.
