Foreigners made 29,000 visits to the medical centres in the Valencian Community. The total bill for the medical care they received comes to 10.2 million euros.
Not surprisingly Torrevieja was the hospital with the highest number of foreigners. The hospital recorded one in three consultations to foreigners. The patients they dealt with came from 78 different countries.
Interestingly though, 33% of the cases that were dealt with were for pregnancy and childbirth.
