A sea of happy faces

The four year infants from “La Paz”, went to the the Library yesterday to enjoy the story tellers “Daisy”.

This activity was planned as part of the celebration of the World-wide Day of the Library that took place last week.

The Council of Culture and the Municipal Library are trying to get children into the habit of reading from a very early age. This type of initiative encourages children to join in the fascinating world of reading, filled with adventures and histories to discover.

At the other end of the age spectrum, Allan White has run a book club at Villas Andrea for a couple of years now. In that time he has amassed over 300 titles; a wide choice which covers all tastes.

Each month, Allan sets the books out at the Albergue restaurant, Camping La Pedrera and waits for people to arrive and borrow books. Yesterday he was there for two hours and saw about seven people.

I must admit, I read very little fiction but Pamela does as I'm sure do many others. The Book Club was something that people asked for but sadly do not support. I thing we'd all agree that It isn't right for Allan to spend so much time and effort on this venture.

He is prepared to continue for one more month but if there is still no interest Allan will reluctantly call it a day. Just to remind you the next Book Club will be held on the first Wednesday in December bewteen 2 and 4pm.
