Catch 22

The PP party in Bigastro are complaining about the work that the 12 people are undertaking in Sector D6. They say that this is not the job of the City Council - it should be done by the constructors who have responsibility for finishing off the site and laying tarmac on the roads before the development is taken over by the Council.

The problem is, that out of the 700 houses scheduled for building, only 25 are occupied at the moment. Until more houses are sold, there will be no money to complete the work on the roads and surroundings.

I imagine that people are unwilling to buy houses in Sector D6 because they may find themselves living on a building site without mains electricity and water as has happened on a number of urbanisations in the area.

Even still, the PP party are keen to ensure that no public money is used to tarmac the roads. For the moment, we will have to continue driving carefully around the area to avoid the raised manholes.
