Help shape the future of the parks

Have you visited the natural  parks at La Mata and Torrevieja? Do you have any comments or suggestions you would like to make about them?

The Valencian authorities are looking for the public’s views to help them frame policy for the environment in and around the natural parks of La Mata and Torrevieja. As part of the official planning there must be consultation with the public to obtain their views which will be incorporated into the final plans and findings.

The project is in three phases:- The first phase looks at what are the main landscapes, resources, trends and conflicts occurring in the Park and its surroundings. The second phase will look at how much people value the parks and the last phase will ask for recommendation for actions to be taken to protect the parks but also to best balance the needs of surrounding areas and facilities.

The survey is being carried out in conjunction with the University Polytechnic of Valencia and can be filled in online in either Spanish or English.

The closing date for survey entries for the first phase is June 10th. Information and survey forms can be obtained from the Visitor’s centres or on line at the Valencian government website.

You can also find them find them at www.rojales.es and www.losmontesinos.org. On the Rojales website there is a large symbol on the left hand side of the home page to click on and on the Los Montesinos site there is a little bird logo in the left hand column of the home page under ‘Turismo’ to click on.

Not yet, but perhaps we'll grab a day out at one next week. If you're not too busy, then we can help by adding some comments ourselves!
