Mayte Valero, of the Council of Celebrations has announced the tenth edition of the Medieval Market in Orihuela which will take place between Friday the 13th and Sunday the 15th of February. Over the weekend they are expecting 100,000 visitors to this colourful event which is claimed to be on of the three most important of its type in Spain.
Visitors to the market will have a chance to browse 250 different stalls (50 more than last year). In addition, several of the local camparsas of Moors and Christians along with other organisations in the city will be taking part so it won't be just about selling you something. There promises to be all manner of entertainment for the crowds to watch along with workshops for the children to take part in.
If the weather stays fine, it should be a great day out; just don't expect the stallholders to be selling at medieval prices.
