Last night’s match between Barcelona and Chelsea was a fiery display of temperament and frustration. Chelsea had the upper hand with their one goal only to see their hopes of a place in the final denied by Barcelona’s only shot on target well into injury time.
The match will be remembered, not for the goals but for Chelsea’s claims for four penalties, the antics of the Barcelona coach and of course Drogba’s remarks to the referee after the game had ended. The referee has admitted afterwards that he made mistakes. I think the Chelsea players, their coach and the fans would all agree with that.
In a similar situation, scousers would say, “we were robbed”.
