Swine flu

The Ministry of Health says the number of confirmed cases of swine flu in Spain has risen from ten to thirteen (two in Madrid and one in Murcia) and the number of suspected cases has risen to 101.

The ECDC (the European Centre of Disease Control) estimates that, between 40% and 50% of the population of Europe could be affected by swine flu. They say the majority of affected cases will be slight and that only a small number of people, the elderly and those with chronic diseases, will experience serious symptoms.
