According to the PP party, as many as 250 home owners in Bigastro have not received a bill for their council tax in 20 years. They say that these properties comprise both apartments in the town centre and villas in the outskirts of town.
Whenever their inquisitive owners approached the town hall and asked why they had not been given their annual IBI bill to pay their compulsory asset tax on their homes, they were told ‘not to worry about it’, claims PP spokesman Aurelio Murcia.
However, If a catastral, or land value, review were carried out, the homeowners in question would receive a bill for this year and for the previous four years – not a pleasant prospect.
I can categorically confirm that we have paid IBI tax on our property.
